When this season started, I figured we would get 2 no hitters or thereabouts to write about. But no, there have been 5 no hitters, including 2 perfect games. In this year of pitching, Matt Garza went out, after what has been a fairly mediocre year for him, and got his piece of the Year of Pitching pie. He only walked one guy, unlike a certain other pitcher to throw a no-hitter in Tampa this year, and still faced the minimum (27). 27 up, 27 down, and if not for a walk it would have been perfect. Congratulations to Matt Garza on joining the now complete rotation of guys who have thrown a no-hitter this year. This was also the first no-hitter for the Rays, so put it in the record books. Matt Garza- 1st No Hitter in Rays history.
